A show of two halves by a talented folk group who happen to contain one of the UK’s top storytellers, Nick Hennessey. It’s a winning combination of close harmony singing, music and spoken word.
The first half of the show is a lively and fun mini folk gig introducing you to the music of Scandinavia with Vicki Swan on the strange Swedish nyckelharpa, Nick Hennessey on harp and vocals and Jonny Dyer on guitars, kohorn (cow horn) and accordian.
The second half is the story of The Whispering Road – which has been called a ”Troll de Force”! It’s fast, it’s funny, it’s scary – it contains magical beasts, castles, a journey to solve a mystery and lots and lots of Trolls! Nick’s theatrical performance genuinely has the audience in the palm of his hand – he’s hilarious as the Troll but very moving in the poignant parts of the story. The music weaves seamlessly through, conjuring up everything from Swedish countryside, the long long journey and of course the Trolls.
